Open positions:

Backend Developer (multiple positions)

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our team! You should have a proven track record as a Backend Developer, as well as a deep understanding of the entire web development process, from design to deployment.

Requirements:

  • Strong Python experience
  • Software design experience with distributed architectures
  • Led impactful engineering projects at non-trivial scale
  • An Agile, quality-oriented mindset
  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Enthusiasm, curiosity, and drive!

Qualifications That Are a Plus

  • Experience developing against cloud platform APIs (i.e., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Mongo or other no-SQL databases (i.e., Elasticsearch, Redis, etc.)
  • Experience creating products for developers, data engineers, and/or data analysts

Our salary range for this position is CAD 100k-120k.

Frontend Developer (multiple positions)

Multiple front-end developer positions are available that require proven work experience

Example responsibilities:

  • Source and create assets for website, including illustrations, photographs, logos, etc.
  • Advise team about best practices for user experience (UX), site-flow, microinteractions, accessibility, etc.; conduct usability and UX testing and needs analysis
  • Typography implementation for site
  • JavaScript development for user interface (UI) widgets
  • Maintain visual style and branding guide
  • Stay current on standards for web usability, design, coding, CSS, scripting languages, browser compatibility, and accessibility issues, with flexibility for learning new skills as needed
  • Under close supervision from the web team, handle requests for site changes using a wide variety of web technologies

Qualification

  • 3+ years of web design/development experience
  • Fluency with CSS3, SASS and HTML5
  • Sample submissions of past design work with application preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Design or Computer Science preferred
  • Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and an ability to adapt to the rapidly changing technologies inherent in web development
  • Extensive experience with hand-coded HTML/CSS and strong commitment to web standards.
  • Experience designing for human factors and user experience
  • Experience with source control systems (particularly Git)
  • Experience with JavaScript and PHP.
  • Ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas for new or enhanced designs and interactive capabilities, and to communicate and collaborate effectively with a team to carry them out
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment with high standards for quality and accuracy
  • Though a self-starter, the candidate must be able to work as part of a larger, complex, and evolving team and to balance interests and needs of a variety of stakeholders.

Our salary range for this position is CAD 60k – 80k.
