Kern County is home to many different healthcare job opportunities. From hospitals and clinics to private practices and research facilities, there is a wide variety of places that offer employment in the healthcare field.
One of the largest employers in Kern County is Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. This facility offers a wide range of services including emergency care, surgery, and labor and delivery. They also have a Level II trauma center and are one of the only hospitals in the area with this designation. BMH employs over 2,000 people in a variety of positions including doctors, nurses, support staff, and administrators.
Another major employer in the area is Dignity Health - North Bakersfield Medical Center. This hospital offers many of the same services as BMH but also has a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). They employ over 1,200 people in various roles throughout the organization.
