There are several bus companies that operate in Cumberland County. These companies include Greyhound, Carolina Trailways, and Cumberland Transit. Each of these companies has multiple job openings for drivers and dispatchers. Driver positions typically require a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Dispatcher positions usually require excellent customer service skills and the ability to multitask.

The county's public transit system, C-Tran, also has multiple job openings for drivers and mechanics. C-Tran operates buses throughout Cumberland County and offers free fares for seniors and persons with disabilities. Drivers must have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) to be eligible for this position. Mechanics must have experience working on buses or other large vehicles.

Amtrak operates two trains through Cumberland County - the Carolinian and the Piedmont - which stop at the Fayetteville Amtrak Station downtown. Amtrak is currently hiring conductors for both of these routes.
