For those who enjoy being outdoors and driving, one option is to become a taxi or Uber driver. This can be a great way to see different parts of the island and meet new people from all over the world. While it may not be the most glamorous job, it can be very rewarding and provide ample opportunity for tips. Another option for outdoor enthusiasts is to become a tour guide, leading groups around different sites on the island such as volcanoes, waterfalls, beaches, etc. This job usually requires excellent customer service skills and knowledge about Hawaii's history and culture.

If you're more interested in working with machinery than people, then perhaps becoming an aircraft mechanic is right for you. There are two airports on Hawaii Island (Hilo International Airport and Kona International Airport), so there is always a demand for qualified mechanics. This career requires completing an accredited aviation maintenance program and passing Federal Aviation Administration exams; however, once you have your certification there are many opportunities available both at the airports and with private companies that offer charter flights around the islands.
