Transportation job opportunities in Pinal County
There are many different types of transportation jobs available in Pinal County. Some of the most popular include bus drivers, taxi drivers, and truck drivers. Others include railway workers, air traffic controllers, and maritime workers.
Most transportation jobs require a commercial driver's license (CDL), which can be obtained through the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Depending on the type of vehicle you will be driving, you may need additional endorsements on your CDL. For example, if you plan to drive a school bus, you will need a passenger endorsement.
If you are interested in becoming a bus driver, there are several things you should know. First of all, all bus drivers must have a clean driving record and pass a background check. In addition, they must complete an approved training program and pass both written and road tests administered by ADOT. School bus drivers must also undergo random drug testing throughout their employment.
Taxi drivers typically do not need a CDL; however, they must obtain a special license from ADOT known as the Taxicab & Limousine License (TCLL). To get this license, applicants must be at least 21 years old with no more than three moving violations within the past three years; have liability insurance; pass an FBI background check; complete taxicab training; and pass both written and road tests administered by ADOT examiners Taxi companies may also require their employees to take additional courses specific to their company policies or procedures.
