Transportation job opportunities in Rockingham County
There are many options for jobs in the transportation industry in Rockingham County. Some of these include working as a bus driver, taxi driver, or Uber/Lyft driver. There are also many positions available with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT). These positions include everything from road maintenance to office work.
The NHDOT is responsible for maintaining all of the roads and bridges in Rockingham County. This includes plowing snow in the winter, repairing potholes, and painting lines on the roadway. The NHDOT also hires people to work in their offices doing administrative tasks such as answering phones and filing paperwork.
Rockingham County is home to two major airports; Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) and Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (PSM). MHT is one of the busiest airports in New England and has many job opportunities available ranging from customer service to baggage handling. PSM is a smaller airport but still has several job openings including security checkpoints and groundskeeping.
There are also several large employers located within Rockingham County that have their own private transportation departments. These companies include Walmart, Coca Cola Bottling Company of Northern New England, and Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant.
