Transportation job opportunities in Snohomish County
The transportation industry offers a wide variety of job options in Snohomish County. From bus drivers to aircraft pilots, there are many ways to get involved in the field of transportation.
Those who are interested in a career as a bus driver can find work with one of the many school districts or private companies that provide buses for students and other passengers. Drivers must have a commercial driver's license (CDL) and pass a background check. Some companies may require additional training, such as first-aid certification or defensive driving courses.
Aircraft pilots have the most freedom when it comes to choosing their place of employment. There are opportunities with major airlines, regional carriers, corporate flight departments, cargo operators, and more. Most pilots start their careers with smaller regional airlines before moving on to larger ones. To become an airline pilot, you must have a commercial pilot's license (CPL), which requires 1,500 hours of flight time and completion of ground school courses. You will also need to pass an FAA medical exam every year and complete annual simulator training sessions.
