The transportation industry in St. Joseph County offers a variety of job options for those looking to enter the field. From bus drivers to truckers, there are many ways to get involved in the transportation industry in St. Joseph County.
For those looking to become a bus driver, the South Bend Public Transportation Corporation (SBT) is always hiring! SBT is responsible for providing public transportation throughout St. Joseph County and surrounding areas. Drivers must have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement and pass a background check and drug test prior to being hired. Once hired, new drivers will undergo training on how to operate the buses safely and efficiently.
If you're interested in becoming a trucker, there are many different companies located in St. Joseph County that are always hiring! Some of these companies include: Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Ceva Logistics, R&L Carriers and Roadlink Express. To become a trucker, you must have a valid CDL with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle you will be driving.
