Job Summary
The Leave of Absence Analyst is responsible for all aspects of the administration of leave of absence processes and policies. The Leave of Absence Analyst leverages their expertise of state, federal and local laws, as well as AMC policies, to create and manage processes which ensure a consistent and efficient experience for employees and managers.
This role requires the ability to think independently and use discretion when evaluating the appropriate course of action for requests. Collaborates effectively with colleagues in HR Compliance, Benefits, Risk Management, Payroll and HR Operations. The Leave of Absence Analyst has a systems and process mindset.
In addition to being front-facing and empathetic, the incumbent must be a problem-solver who understands federal and state regulations and how they overlap and/or intersect. Performs all other responsibilities as directed by or as assigned by management.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of FMLA leave administration process from end to end (initial notice to return to work). Maintain knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, state, and local laws
As the subject matter expert, provide accurate up-to-date information to employees and managers on leave of absence and disability policies and procedures.
Responsible for all Leave of Absence reporting and analytics.
Develop and update educational materials for managers, employees, and HR Partners, and deliver training as needed.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers for the duration of the leave and the return-to-work process to facilitate smooth and effective claim handling.
Diligently manage the return-to-work process, including communication with employees, managers, HR Partners, as well as managing any impact on employee’s payroll.
Manage the relationship with the leave of absence third-party administrators (TPA). Regularly communicate with the TPAs to ensure leaves and disability programs are being administered timely and accurately.
Identify and develop continuous improvement solutions that create efficiency and improve the team member experience.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years’ experience in HR and/or Leave of Absence Management
Prior experience in HRIS and/or timekeeping system
Skills
Extensive knowledge of leave administration, including FMLA, ADA, STD/LTD, and other applicable legal protections afforded by state and local regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to collaborate well with employees at all levels.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and composure in all settings.
Responsible for independent decisions that are based on some prior experience and familiarity with challenges and prescribed guidelines and practices with little or no deviation.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent organizational skills and follow-through skills.
Ability to exercise great initiative and independent judgement.
Computer Skills
Strong with Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, Power
Point and Outlook.
Demonstrated ability to learn other software as required (UKG Pro, Vendor Reporting Tools).

Compensation
Salary range:
$64,287 - $80,377
