The Digital Accessibility Lead primary function is to plan, implement, and execute all aspects of quality and testing to meet the growing and changing accessibility guidelines. They will work closely with our development teams to monitor all stages of software development and coach development efforts to meet accessibility standards.

The position is also responsible to evolve our accessibility processes, educate teams and management on best practices, and be the leading agent of change in the accessibility space. What you’ll do Collaborate with the partners and product owners to execute the corporate accessibility strategy across the board to create accessible products and services Collaborating across roles throughout the product design lifecycle to ensure accessibility in the design system and be an accessibility advocate throughout the process Perform accessibility audits and recommend solutions to fill the accessibility gaps based on WCAG standards, ARIA best practices, UI/UX accessibility standards, and PDF/Universal Accessibility; As well as ensure compliance with the ADA, Section 508, and WCAG Creating custom training for colleagues based on emerging standards and technologies Participate in daily standups, user story review, estimation, and sprint planning

What you’ll bring Minimum 5 years of leading experience and work with multiple Development and Product Management teams Expert skills in understanding WCAG 2.1 AA and applying requirements to create accessible experiences Experience with working in multiple projects, effort estimation, and capacity planning Preference for candidates with IAAP CPACC/WAS, DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester Knowledge of correct use, and limitations of, WAI-ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) in web apps Knowledge of UI/UX accessible principles and ability to coach design work to meet the WCAG main principles Understanding of compatibility with various platforms and limitations of use Experience providing accessibility strategy consulting to teams and understanding of the different roles and responsibilities across the disciplines of software development Experience performing accessibility testing experiences with adaptive technology products such as NVDA, JAWS, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Read
