Work Environment:

The position will be based in our corporate headquarters, near Madison, WI, but it will offer a hybrid work arrangement allowing the flexibility to work a few days a week from home.

What You’ll Do:

Technical Leadership - responsible for leading the technical development of our digital solutions. This will include overseeing the development team, working with stakeholders to identify requirements, and developing technical architectures and designs. You will be expected to provide technical guidance and mentorship to your team members.

Agile Methodologies - responsible for leading our agile development process. This may include facilitating agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. You will also work with the team to identify areas for continuous improvement and help to implement process improvements.

Product Development - work closely with product managers to identify opportunities for digital product development. You will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions that meet business needs, including developing wireframes and prototypes and working with the development team to build and deploy the final product.

Quality Assurance - responsible for ensuring that the digital solutions developed by your team meet our quality standards. This will include developing and implementing test plans, working with the development team to ensure code quality, and identifying and addressing any issues that arise during the development process.

Team Management - responsible for managing the development team, including hiring and training new team members, conducting performance reviews, and providing ongoing coaching and mentorship to team members. You will also be responsible for managing the team's workload and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Continuous improvement - work closely with other members of the team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes that will improve the system's overall performance and functionality.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field.

At least 7 years' experience in digital commerce or web development with multiple platforms.

Strong understanding of web development technologies:

The Lead Digital Engineer must have a strong understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, Java

Script, and web APIs.

Proficiency in PWA frameworks:

The Lead Digital Engineer must have experience with PWA frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.js. They should also be familiar with the latest PWA standards and best practices and have experience implementing PWAs that work seamlessly across multiple devices and platforms.

Experience with Agile Methodologies:

The Lead Digital Engineer must have experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. They should be able to facilitate Scrum ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Strong leadership skills:

The Lead Digital Engineer must be an effective leader who can motivate and guide the development team. They should be able to provide guidance and mentorship, set priorities, and ensure that the team is working collaboratively to meet project goals.

Experience with backend development:

The Lead Digital Engineer must have experience with backend development using Node.js or similar technologies. They should also be familiar with database management and RESTful API design.

Excellent communication skills:

The Lead Digital Engineer must be an excellent communicator, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. They should also be able to effectively communicate project progress, identify risks and manage expectations.

Business acumen:

The Lead Digital Engineer must have a good understanding of retail business models and operations. They should be able to identify opportunities for digital product development that can help drive business growth.

Compensation:

$115,000 to $140,000/Year

Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
