Job Summary

Responsible to maintain quality standards by approval of incoming materials, in-process inspections, and finished products using visual, inspection equipment, tools, and quality knowledge. Entry of data and maintaining of records to ensure compliance to regulations and certifications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of parts and assemblies to Engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform specialized inspections, such as first article or conformity
  • Perform incoming receiving inspection of materials, parts, and assemblies.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports for discrepant products and maintains NCR quarantine area
  • Maintain scrap product (e.g. tags, quarantine, log) and render product unusable prior to disposal
  • Help maintain tool and equipment calibration
  • Assist with maintaining incoming inspection priorities and part movement through the inspection area
  • Assist with execution of compliance standards, department processes, and written procedures
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years’ quality inspection related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Aviation or Manufacturing equivalent experience preferred
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and Part 21 PMA regulations
  • Knowledge of inspection tools such as micrometers, height gage, calipers, and optical comparators.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels
  • Ability to work with individuals within other departments to problem solve, root cause, and continuous improvement.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Previous experience working with databases and quality systems to enter daily inspection data and provide documentation

Hiring Salary Range:

$21.56-$26.38/hr DOE
