JOB SUMMARYUnder the direction of Vice President, Technology, the Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible for providing leadership and technical guidance in the use of information technology (IT) to meet the strategic and tactical business goals of GST.

The technical guidance and direction will be provided to teams on the selection, design, implementation, and ongoing management of technology to sustain a flexible information technology infrastructure. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for the technical direction of the enterprise.

The EA will provide consulting expertise, and leverage business and technical knowledge to support business strategies and deliver business value. This position will play an integral role in evaluating buy versus build solutions that meet business requirements with an experienced focus on sustainability and flexibility for future needs.

The EA will work with Technical and Business teams to maintain and align the business and IT strategic plan.

The Enterprise Architect is accountable for leading, managing and balancing a bimodal architecture program - tactical, to run, grow and transform the business, and strategic, which designs and enables future-state business capabilities with a focus on technology disruption, speed, agility, and flexibility.

The EA is a practical role and not just a TOGAF/Zackman theory-based role. The EA must be solution-oriented and business minded with significant practical experience in building, delivering & support IT systems in the evolution to being an architect. Experience as a thought leader, a builder of consensus and of bridges between business, technology and the architecture leadership across the Friedkin companies, while maintaining objectivity and a strong understanding that architecture is foundational for the organization to deliver on its business goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSLead and Influence

Lead the continued evolution of the GST architecture program.

Lead the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business strategy and requirements supporting ERP, Off the Shelf and Custom Software technology stack.

Focus on Strategy and Execution

Demonstrate the business value of architecture as an enabler of strategy formulation, and as support for technology innovation, which drives the organization's top and bottom lines.

Formulate, translate, advocate, support and execute business strategy to achieve the organization's targeted business outcomes.

Creates and documents frameworks, methodologies, standards that the enterprise will leverage across all technologies and businesses.

Ensure accurate asset information is recorded and documented for the technology stack and applications supported.

Research and Understand Technology and Nontechnology Trends

Scan the world for major disruptive technology and nontechnology trends (trendspotting) that affect business. Provide practical advice and best practices to overcome these challenges and successfully deliver the expected business outcomes.

Collaborate with TFG Chief Architect to analyze business and operating models, market trends and the technology industry to determine their potential impact on the enterprise's business strategy, direction and architecture.

Define architecture blue books and technology roadmaps.

Enable Enterprise Ideation and Innovation

Track and apply innovative and existing technologies, anchoring them in the business model to assess their potential, and use rapid prototyping approaches to evolve innovations.

Run technology experiments, helping to create new products and services and integrating the best of theses into steady-state operations for the organization.

Determine and Help Orchestrate the Delivery of Business Outcomes

Guide and advice stakeholders about disruptive technologies and trends.

Ensure technology roadmaps across applications, infrastructure, middleware and other aspects of technology are evolving in sync with each other.

Work with business peers to develop and present business capability models and roadmaps to facilitate discussion and decision making with stakeholders across the enterprise.

Lead analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement and driving the business forward.

Present a gap analysis and/or IT investment roadmap that reflects the status of the existing IT estate, namely, its ability to contribute to future-state business capabilities around ecosystems and digital platforms.

Lead the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies.

Lead and facilitate the creation of governance, assurance and standards to guide EA decision making.

Oversee the evaluation and selection of architecture standards, as necessary.

Consult with infrastructure, project and product teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.

Partners with the TFG Technology and Infrastructure organizations in determining a practical adaptation of enterprise standards through informal feedback sessions.

Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.

Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises one or more employees and has leadership influence within business units. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience requirements:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; and 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ten or more years of expertise with at least two IT Domain (Business, Apps, Data, Security, Server, Networks, Storage).Must have experience in Architecture Frameworks.

Skills

Strong in either infrastructure or applications, while having sufficient experience in the other.

Ability to accurately assess and understand customer needs and work with a sense of urgency to satisfy those needs within negotiated timeframes.

Skills in translating high-level business and user requirements into functional and quality specifications with the appropriate level of detail.

Strong analytical skills to critically evaluate information, reconcile conflicts, synthesize low-level information at a higher level and distinguish user requests from true needs and solution ideas from requirements.

S), SOA, APIs, open data, micro services, event-driven IT and predictive analytics

Excellent communication skills (writing, summary commentary, etc.), including the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate and influence across all organizational levels.

Should be able to present technical presentations to a technical and non-technical business audience.

Operates with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. Proven experience in documenting and defining architectures using industry standard tools.

Effective consultative skills across a multi-functional environment.

Should have experience with Agile, SCRUM, XP development methods.

Leadership experience with business operations.

Possess an ability to identify implications and alternatives in business terms of technology tradeoffs.
