Metallurgical Engineer

BS or foreign equivalent in Metallurgical Engineering + 2 year relevant experience. Duties include reviewing new product plans & make recommendations for material selection based on design objectives, such as strength, weight, heat resistance, electrical conductivity & cost.

Analyze product failure data & laboratory test results to determine causes of problems & develop solutions. Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure their quality. Plan & implement laboratory operations for the purpose of developing material & fabrication procedures that meet cost, product specification, and performance standards.

Evaluate materials & develop machinery and processes to manufacture materials for use in products that must meet specialized design & performance specifications. Develop new uses for known materials, such as graphite, metal and metal alloys, ceramics, plastics, and polymers.

Perform laboratory failure analysis and field metallurgical services. Must have certifications in:

API 510, API 570, API 580, API 653. Position available in Bismarck, ND.
