Position Summary:
The Senior Director, Data Infrastructure leads a growing team of Data Infrastructure engineers in onboarding and managing all enterprise data assets, providing best practices and coaching on ETL, data management, data quality, and data automation to the team.
Perhaps as important, you will assist in advising the greater Enterprise Analytics team on how to most effectively utilize our data and data platform to generate meaningful and actionable insights to the business.
Responsibilities
Manages and guides team leads in day-to-day operations, helping them support the Data Engineers in task prioritization and project management
Serves as a liaison with the Brand Analytics teams to ensure efficient and effective use of the data warehouse, including management, design, and implementation of a robust pre-processed Analytics Layer, business rules, and KPIs
Maintains a critical eye on the data needs of the business as well as technical landscape, making recommendations to the business for new data sourcing, technology, or integration to help drive key insights generation
Works with Associate Director(s) to instill best practices amongst team in ETL (Extract Transform Load), robust data validation/cleansing, advanced coding in Transact SQL and Python
Designs and implements advanced structures within data platform to support concepts such as Customer360, MDM Integration, and Omni-Channel Marketing
Leads relationships with the cross-functional teams such as CRM, Medical Affairs Operations, Trade, etc
Works with Associate Director(s) to manage documentation processes and data transparency with the rest of the organization
Assists Executive Director in long range, future state, planning for Data Infrastructure capabilities and effectiveness
Qualifications and Skills Required
BA/BS required10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, including experience in Data Infrastructure, Market Research and/or Sales Analytics
Demonstrated successful cross-functional collaboration and leadership
Demonstrated high proficiency in understanding data, data nuances, and application of data to pharmaceutical business needs
Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage complex requirements through creation and refinement of processes that drive enterprise data development practices
Proficient in components of data management and enterprise data platforms, specifically:
SQL language:
Transact-SQLETL technologies and processes, specifically SQL Server Integration Services and Azure Databricks
Tables, keys, and indices
Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and Triggers
Azure Data Lake
Azure Data Factory
Python
