Assembly & Test Technician (Cedar Rapids IA)

Job Description Be part of a great team that assembles and test a complex and highly engineered product used in the Energy and Process Industries for John Crane in Cedar Rapids IW. The product build complexity will increase as the capability and experience level increases of the employee.

Duties & Responsibilities Perform all aspects of necessary duties (i.e. proper usage of tools and instrumentation, rotor balancing, blue print interpretation, record keeping, etc.) required to assemble and test dry gas seals safely Troubleshoot problems associated with seal assembly and testing Installation and setup of seals into the appropriate test rig and operating the rig to test conditions indicated within the appropriate test plan Reading instrumentation, recording data and calling immediate attention to variations from acceptable criteria and specifications Prepare, organize and maintain documentation as required for seal assembly and testing Assist test engineer in setup and running of more critical and/or complex test seal designs Assist to prepare drawings for assembly/disassembly tools and/or fixtures
