Our client is seeking a highly motivated Materials Management professional who is interested and experienced in leading supply chain optimization processes & capabilities that will directly have an impact on the bottom line.

Position Overview:

The

Supply Chain Manager oversees and manages all planning activities related to materials management and inventory control in the manufacturing environment. This includes tactical day-to-day operational commitments covering logistics, materials management, inventory control and materials functions such as purchasing and scheduling.

Translates customer delivery requirements into material strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of products while optimizing customer satisfaction. Responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods to support business operations and delivery.

Ultimately, you are tasked with ensuring all our departments have adequate access to the materials they need. The Supply Chain Manager will work daily with Operations Management, Project Management, Engineering and Logistics to assure company targets are met as efficiently as possible.

The candidate should be meticulous, accurate, have a strong work ethic with a continuous-improvement mindset.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Active member of the company’s leadership team.

Establish and maintain communications to satisfy the needs of the plants while facilitating a consistent and coordinated interface with suppliers on quality, delivery, and other performance objectives.

Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance.

Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.

Interface with cross functional team members on planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments

Create, standardize, coordinate, communicate and supervise daily tasks, reports, records, shipments and inventory plans delivering results that meet or exceed Kanban & Delivery KPI’s.

Lead and verify all perpetual inventory requirements to include physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count and investigates and report reasons for discrepancies and variances.

Gather data for analysis regarding usage, quality, price, and manufacturing capability.

Interview and hire staff and oversee staff training.

Review shipping, receiving and inventory records to ensure compliance, completion, and retention with applicable regulatory entities such as NAFTA, Sarbanes-Oxley & DOT

Participate in cross functional teams working towards continuous process improvement, elimination of waste and simultaneous engineering.

Evaluate and monitor contracts to ensure suppliers and vendors are complying with terms and conditions.

Requirements and Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field required.

Minimum of three years of materials management experience in the areas of operations, production planning, purchasing. Logistics and warehousing.

Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel.

Ability to influence others through great communication skills.

Ability to identify complex problems while reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Continuous improvement mindset for understanding complex problems and developing solutions for business processes and systems.

Ability to manage projects and work in a team project environment.

Proficiency with MRP/ERP/AS400/Kanban tools preferred.

Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities

Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting.

Proven problem-solver.
