Job Summary:

Six Flags Great Adventure is seeking a dynamic and motivated leader to supervise The Public Safety Department! This position will assist the Safety & Security Manager with accident investigations, claim reporting, and managing the Public Safety Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Protect company assets and apply risk management experience to ensure Guest and Team Member safety & security.

Manage compliance standards and completion of documentation with New Jersey Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Agency, OSHA, and State and County Fire Board.

Support and enforce corporate risk management policies, security and safety initiatives.

Implement and maintain the Safety & Risk Manual, Emergency Response Manual, and Safety and Risk Management Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure all training is completed while reviewing training courses annually.

Maintain records and produce safety/risk management related reports – analyze accident & injury trends.

Investigate all reports of accidents, hazards and security & safety issues and respond accordingly.

Routinely inspect all areas for hazards and other safety related risks.

Communicate with Park management and Team Members on any hazards that exist or may come to exist.

Coordinate with other departments to proactively manage safety and develop a preventative injury program to help protect Team Members and Guests.

Review contractor safety plans for compliance with park, federal, state and local regulations.

Assist Safety Manager in Emergency Response procedures and training.

Maintain that all Safety staff is in full compliance with State and/or Federal licensing.

Assist in managing all Security, First Aid and Fire staff.

Implement and supporting safety education and communication programs across the park.

Responsible for supporting and maintaining all drug-testing procedures.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Strong background in Occupational Safety & Risk Management.

Active NJ state EMT or Nationally certified EMT preferred

Fire 1 and 2 preferred but not required

Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and New Jersey Fire and EMS.

Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to multitask under high-pressure emergencies.

Demonstrated leadership abilities with a team-oriented approach.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Will be required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able lift 100lbs, carry 75lbs, push/pull 200lbs and climb up to 100’

Must be willing to work in all weather conditions for at least 1 hour.
