Position Summary:

Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting manufacturing automation solutions for the Life Sciences Industry. The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical, Electrical, Computer Science or Bio-Process Engineering, or related field, as well as 2 to 5 years experience in automation engineering.

This role requires a client facing component and as such the candidate needs to have excellent communication and customer orientation skills, as well as a good knowledge of GAMP lifecycle and quality management processes employed with the Life Science Industry.

Support activities require night rotation flexibility for half the year.

Role Responsibilities

Design, develop and implement automation solutions for our clients in the life sciences industry.

Develop and execute automated tests and systems to ensure the quality and reliability of products, processes, and systems.

Troubleshoot and debug automation systems.

Develop and maintain automation scripts, test plans, and other documentation.

Chemical unit operations technical knowledge to ensure product quality adherence.

Innovative mindset for engineering enhancements for downtime reduction and continuous improvement to existing process.

Participate in the design and implementation of automation strategies.

Maintaining automation systems in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Execute safety first approach for automation process guidance troubleshooting.

Role Requirements

Experience with automation systems such as Delta

V, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Wonder

Ware

Expertise employer prefers include programming languages knowledge such as Python, VB, C+

Knowledge of software development and software testing methodologies

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Knowledge of GAMP lifecycle and quality management processes

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects

Knowledge of computer networking, virtualization, and cloud computing

Integrity, motivational ambition, and respect.

Willingness for 12 hour shifts with quarterly day/night rotations.

Good To Have Skills

Life science – Manufacturing experience will be a plus.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
