The Plant Development Engineer will execute and manage projects and activities associated with qualified articles for the purpose of product optimization, product changes, CIP, etc.. These activities will be coordinated within ALPLA manufacturing sites through the collaboration with Operations, the NOAM Techincal Center, Sales and the customer.
What You Will Enjoy Doing
Executes and manages projects and activities associated with qualified articles for the purpose of product optimization, product change validation, CIP, etc. This could include:
Introduction / increase of PCR, colors, new base resins and additives, etc.
Mold modification and maintenance validation.
Satisfying customer sampling needs.
Development to manufacturing “Best Practices.”
Supports the transition of new product development activities into production for complex projects led out of the NOAM TC.
Responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to draw conclusions and recommended next steps. Identifies and resolves technical issues and risks to achieve project goals
Coordinates activities with plant scheduling and logistics related to qualified articles.
Researches and understands customer’s requirements while translating them into an actionable plan
Responding to any customer complaints, concerns or requests for qualified articles.
Documents key project information. Use appropriate forms and follows procedures established for project execution
Making sure that all health, safety and legal requirements are being met throughout the process.

Education/Experience:
Technical associates degree will be considered. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Packaging, Mechanical or Plastics engineering preferred. 3 years of experience in packaging, preferably within plastics industry
Post-Training Qualifications/Skills:
Basic knowledge of HDPE, PP and PET resins Understanding of Project Management principles Capable of applying and assessing SPC/statistics Understanding of key features on bottle for performance and closure seal. Knowledge of bottle testing, capable of conducting dimensional and functional evaluations Trouble shooting/resolution of issues What You Can Expect From ALPLA
