SUMMARYReporting to the CEO, the Director of Advancement is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive fund development program for the agency, specifically in grantsmanship, special events, corporate sponsorships, and donors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPlans, implements, coordinates, supervises, monitors, and evaluates all programs related to Community Development. Including grants, special events, annual giving, individual donors, stewardship, and corporate sponsorships.

Manages successful fund development program.

Supervises grant research, proposal development, program compliance and reporting processes.

Serves as a liaison for the Mission Committee to the Board.

Represents agency as appropriate and performs other duties as assigned by the President/CEO.

Participates in community education programs, professional organizations, and legislative activity.

Maintains and develops knowledge of evolving hospice and palliative care philosophy and practices

Recruits, hires, orients, guides, counsels, supervises, and evaluates focusing on mission, strategic plan, and personal improvement.

Identifies and assesses community needs as they relate to the Alive Hospice philosophy and mission and ensures funding methods, to address the respective needs.

Oversee the planning and implementation of key cultivation and stewardship events.

Provides leadership for design/messaging/implementation/evaluation of giving programs/events.

Work with the Advancement Manager to establish a project plan for each event along with an operating budget.

Oversee the Advancement Managers management of the coordination of events.

Along with the Advancement Manager, solicit and recruit event chairs and committees.

Establish a relationship with the local Chambers to help identify new corporate partners.

Develop strategies to ensure proper identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate sponsor prospects, working with the CEO and the Development and Events Manager.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
