Hospital Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist

A prestigious health organization is actively seeking a Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join their Laboratory Services team.

The Hospital Clinical Laboratory Scientist will work for a top-ranked health organization known for delivering exceptional patient care throughout the region. The Hospital Laboratory will work out of a 200+ bed community hospital, recognized for their full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services.

Joining the Laboratory Services team, the Hospital Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist will primarily work the day-shift, reporting to the Manager of Laboratory Services. The Hospital Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist will help oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, assist with new-hire training, and act as a resource to the team.

The Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist will ensure department efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain accountability for the department. Additionally, the Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist is accountable for meeting deadlines, overseeing simultaneous projects, and working in a team-oriented environment.

The Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist understands how to interpret results and clinical significance of the findings, while ensuring discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information. As the department resource, the Hospital Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist will be a hands-on leader, and must have recent experience working as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist in an acute care hospital laboratory setting.

The Hospital Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist will also hold their MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), MLT (ASCP), or CLS (NCA) or equivalent certification.

This hospital is located on the eastern coast, easily commutable from the suburbs of Maryland or Delaware.
