Job Shift Saturday – Monday:

4:00am – 4:00pm

Description

The Sr. DC Department Lead will assist the Manager/Supervisor with setting the daily plan, directing team member working assignments, and communicating job expectations. The position will also direct the training of new hires, department transfers, and temporary associates on proper work procedures and equipment operation; where applicable.

The leader will also participate in facility/department audits to ensure team members are complying with safety programs and company policies. This position reports to:

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Work in tandem with the Department Manager/Supervisor to determine production goals, daily operational tasks, monitor performance, and strategically adjust team member work assignments as needed. Initiate and direct training, coach, and develop team members while holding them accountable on their job performance and productivity.

This includes observing team members to ensure correct processes and policies are being followed, as demonstrated in their training. Knowledge of WMS applications or ability to learn in order to audit, research, and resolve inventory variances; as well as, respond to team members questions and issues.

Positively and proactively work and communicate with your team, peers, and other levels of leadership. Willingness to participate in continued leadership development training, serve on the Safety Committee, and participate in daily business meetings with all levels of the leadership team.

Be a positive example and role model for driving a Culture of Safety First. Creates a culture of accountability and ownership by holding self and team accountable to follow all policies and procedures. Have willingness to learn all areas of the distribution center and willingness to work a flexible (outside of normal shift) schedule when business needs dictate (possible early/late shifts, off shifts, other departments, etc.).

Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to operate forklift and other powered equipment essential to the position. Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed. This task list is meant to describe most responsibilities of the role but is not intended to be all inclusive.

At least 18 years of age

High school diploma or equivalent. Environmental Job Conditions

Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance. Located in an indoor environment with exposure to changing temperatures, including heat and cold, noise and dust.

Perform repetitive, dexterous movements related to computer use and data entry

When needed stand, sit, bend, twist, lift for up to 8 hours a day.
