Position Summary:

We are seeking a Carrier Services (Broker) Representative for our Plymouth, MI office. This person will help to facilitate our continued growth efforts, and will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating with carriers within our primary areas of operation.

Responsibilities:

Exceed customer on time pick-up and delivery expectations

Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers

Effective and timely freight coverage and carrier selection through systemic routing guide and spot shipments including rate negotiation

Leverage TMS to effectively route - considering best cost and transit options

Monitoring and resolving shipment data errors

Proactive analysis to prevent service failures

Proactively develop, recommend and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs in support of the transportation strategy

Professional and timely communications

Identify patterns with shipper, receiver, and carrier performance and recommend actions for improvement

Resolve carrier invoice discrepancies

Other duties as assigned

Skills:

High School diploma required

Bachelor’s degree is preferred with an emphasis on Business or a related field

Desire to start or continue a career in inside sales

Eager to contribute to a high-energy environment. You will build your career in an office, over the phone alongside a team of your peers

A strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to get things done over the phone, through email, and face-to-face

Ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people. You will have fun talking to peers, truck drivers, dispatchers, and business leaders alike

Proficient in Microsoft Office
