Overview:

Processes a variety of transactions related to warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, issuing parts to jobs, physically moving parts, and inventory counts.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to:

  • Receive incoming materials, supplies and equipment
  • Unload trucks, inspect material for damage or defects, uncrate and assemble materials if needed
  • Prepare crates and other items to be shipped
  • Process basic shipping / receiving / inventory transactions in computer system
  • With training, operate material handling equipment including hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, delivery vehicle, etc.
  • Deliver materials to appropriate departments and obtain required signatures
  • Demonstrate skills required to obtain forklift operator certification
  • Maintain good housekeeping in assigned area
  • Comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and PPE policies and procedures
  • Read, write and speak English

Knowledge:

  • General knowledge of inventory processes including storing, receiving, packaging, preserving, issuing, shipping, or transferring, and inventory control

Minimum Education and Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record

Minimum Experience:

  • Typically less than 2 years related experience

Leadership:

  • No leadership responsibilities

  • Must meet the medical requirements necessary to wear PPE required by role
  • Constantly required to display good manual dexterity and to reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to talk and hear
  • Frequently required to sit while driving material handling equipment, and to stand and walk with good balance
  • Regularly required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 110 pounds
  • Occasionally required to stoop, twist, kneel, and squat
  • Occasionally required to climb, stairs and slanted ladders and carry up to 40 pounds with one hand
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
