Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Cath Lab Nurse you will be assisting physicians perform cardiac catheterizations, which are medical procedures used to diagnose and treat heart conditions. You will also be administrating moderate sedation. Duringcardiac catheterizationprocedures,Cath lab nursesmonitor and record patients' vital signs and they must be ready to intervene if an emergency arises.

Tasks and responsibilities, you will:

Assess, plan and evaluate patient care needs.

Prepares the room appropriately to receive a new admission, assists in the insertion and discontinuation of invasive lines. Monitors and records continuously patients with invasive lines.

Evaluates, assesses and documents patient's hemodynamic response to therapeutic intervention by accurate cardiovascular monitoring. Knowledgeable and competent in care of drains, external and internal catheters.

Carries out established techniques for safe administration of cardiovascular medications.

Performs cardiovascular assessment as necessary.

Evaluates, assesses and documents patient's hemodynamic status, and reports any changes to physicians. Position Qualifications:

• Current FL RN License required or recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State licensing requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
• Graduate of a school or nursing.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support card. (BLS)
• Current ACLS.
• Basic EKG course required, 12 Lead Course preferred.
• CCRN certification preferred but not mandatory.
• PCI Certification strongly preferred.
• Completion of Intra-Aortic Balloon Course.
• In lieu of IAB course, one year documented experience with IABC is required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred, 2 yrs required 1 of which must be in an ICU, CCU, or Cath Lab.
• On-Call is required for position (Min. 14 days a month/2 weekends shifts) based on dept/patient needs.
• RN must be able to perform duties of circulator.

We offer preventative and elective programs and surgeries.

We are an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Primary Stroke Center. HCA Florida Palms West Hospital has emergency services, a dedicated New Life Center and a Level II NICU. We have a full-service Children’s Hospital. Services include outpatient rehabilitation, an aquatics center, orthopedic spine center, robotics, and interventional radiology.
