About The Position
This position is located in the Optometry Department at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center, in Phoenix, AZ. The optometry technician serves as a front-line health care personnel; performing a combination of technical (non-professional medical) and administrative tasks related to the treatment and care of eye patients in an ambulatory environment.
Incumbent performs eye care services and technical tasks for patient care and is under the direct supervision of the Chief of Optometry.
Requirements
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Work in a medical office performing patient histories, preliminary test such as vital signs, or visual acuities, assisting provider in delivery medical treatments and entering information into an electronic health record.
Is familiar with basic ocular anatomy and experience independently providing patient education on ocular conditions and treatment and transcribing eyeglass prescriptions using standard optical notation.
