Position Description

The Master Data Analyst III is essential to the effective running of our business. Master data is a single source of business data used across multiple systems, applications, and processes. When master data is accurate, on time and complete it saves businesses both time and money; allowing them to make better-informed business decisions.

This is a remote opportunity and will be home-based.

This role serves as the technical expert for a single Master Data domain (Material or Customer or Vendor or Pricing). Within that Data Domain this candidate serves as an informal leader for the MDM team to understand new/complex requests, serving on cross-functional project teams, engaging with key business partners to further the value and quality of master data, support the business in defining and maintaining business rules, and has ownership for applicable data dictionaries.

This person is also the data domain leader for continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures business functionality requirements are addressed through direct involvement in design, development, validation, and implementation of solutions.

This position reports to the Sr. MDM Manager.

Essential Functions:

Able to use Excel to transform large data sets, with extensive knowledge of advanced features within the application

Uses expert-level SAP skills to extract and work with data from multiple tables

Able to drive the development of Standard Operating Procedures that guide master data set up processes and rules

Able to partner with stakeholders within the business to support their master data requests and resolve the most complex issues

Ability to learn new applications and tools that are commonly used in a professional setting

Ability to manage multiple work packages in a fast paced environment, meeting deadlines and working with autonomy

Can present new master data concepts and help leadership achieve it’s strategic direction

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's or Masters in Accounting, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or similar field of study or 5+ years of Master Data Management experience

Certifications preferred include:

CPA, Six Sigma, PMP, or similar.

Exposure to the business functions of a manufacturing enterprise and able to see problems from an operation, finance, supply chain, or business analysis perspective.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Functional/Technical Skills – Able to work with large data sets, utilizes advanced features of Excel, performs in depth data analysis and demonstrates expert level SAP skills.

Data Governance – Exhibits good data management practices that enable accurate creation of master data items in SAP. Leads/ executes all parameters of the data governance program and is seen as the SME for a master data domain.

Business Acumen – Possesses knowledge of organizational structures, functional roles and responsibilities and business processes that enable problem-solving and definition of process improvements.

Collaboration with the Business – Leads collaboration with stakeholders from the business to resolve the most complex data or process issues.

Process Management – Defines new processes and KPIs that drive organizational efficiency and integrity of master data.

Time Management – Completes multiple projects and tasks on time, communicate when deadlines are in jeopardy, and suggests recover or alternative plans.

Proficiency Level:

Experience participating in technology implementation projects. 3+ years of experience as technical business user of SAP or in SAP MDM. Strong interest in systems with demonstrable systems mindset and exposure to a large ERP system. Can lead data

Is a data domain expert and is able to effectively work master data issues across data domains. Understands the interactions of master data with key transaction cycles. Performs all tasks associated with establishing and maintaining Data Governance. Leads data profiling, data quality rule definition, scorecard definition/validation and data steward discussions with the business.

3+ years of industry experience. Strong business aptitude, problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment. Has thorough depth of understanding regarding business processes (OTC, R2

R, P2

P) for current organization.

Develops and delivers training for internal customers. Is a point of contact for the majority of issues/inquiries. Is a spokesperson for the department for cross functional meetings/issues/collaboration Comfortable pushing back with customers and stakeholders to protect the integrity of the data management process.

Use existing data integrity tools and/or create new proactive solutions to identify erroneous data points. Knowledge of one SAP end-to-end process and related data (e.g. OTC, FTS, PTP, MRO). Support deployment of solutions and process/data structure change

Expected to support and complete a wide range of projects or work packages, communicating in advance when deadlines may be at risk. Self-motivated, flexible, with the ability to deal with high levels of complexity, change and evolving processes, often at short.
