Field Relay Engineer

Our client, an electrical testing and power company, is seeking a Sr Relay Technician or a Relay Engineer to join their team. As a Field Relay Engineer, you will be part of the Power & Transmissions Team supporting third-party testing and inspections for the company.

The ideal candidate will have a love of the power industry, strong relay inspection and testing background and strong customer interfacing skills which will align successfully in this progressive, small, privately-held organization.

Location:

Tualatin, OR or Kent, WA

Pay:

$40-$60/hr + OT, DOE plus benefits, relocation and performance bonuses

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and testing of relays to include systems ranging from 120

V up to 500k

V

Relay testing of electro-mechanical, solid-state and microprocessor based relays

Ability to work in the field with customers primarily in OR and WA state with occasional quarterly trips to other states to support clients

Requirements

HS/GED; BS degree a plus

2+ years’ experience in relay testing including the ability to manually test a relay

Ability to understand relay functions including programming and testing, inspection and verification; experience with relay testing of electro-mechanical, solid-state and microprocessor based relays

Strong internal and external customer facing skills

Reliable transportation and ability to perform regional travel (compensated for mileage and drive-time)
