Database Engineer

Cognizant is seeking a Database Engineer for a full-time opportunity.

We are looking for Database Engineer an immediate need. This is a client-facing role & the candidate will have regular interactions with various client managers.

Key Responsibilities:

migration/configuration/administration of a potgre

SQL DB running on Linux. Also, knowledge of other opensource DB’s (Maria

DB, mysql, redis…etc.) would be great . Also, knowledge of databases deployed as docker containers would be helpful. Knowledge of Oracal/SQLserver DB would be a plus. Must have EXPERTISE in postgresql and Maria

DB running on Linux.

Required Skills:

• Open Source DB administration (mariad

DB, mysql, postgres)

• Database migration (Extracting and/or loading data)
• Experience in upgrading and migrating various versions of Postgre

SQL database

• Setting up security measures
• Ensuring DB software versions are updated regularly
• Authenticating data
• Monitoring the performance of hardware and software
• Database hardening
• Preserving data integrity
• Backup/Restore

Preferred Skills:

• Experience running/creating/troubleshooting database as Docker container
• Linux administration skills (file permissions, ssh, user management)
• Bash scripting

Experience:

Hands on Mid-level to Senior 7+ Years’ Experience with DB Engineering, management, scripting and automations

7+ years DB Engineering / administration
