Linux Engineer

Cognizant is seeking a Linux Engineer for a full-time opportunity.

We are looking for Linux Engineer an immediate need. This is a client-facing role & the candidate will have regular interactions with various client managers.

Key Responsibilities:

The Linux Engineer is responsible to act as Linux engineering subject matter expert on various projects. Primarily working on Store Systems Management, problem resolution and collaboration with key stakeholders. Linux Engineer provides Store Systems Management with regular status updates, continuous process improvement, and completion of customer satisfaction initiatives.

Required Skills:

• Bash/Python scripting – at least intermediate
• Configure/Install/Admin - RHEL and Debian based (Ubuntu) systems
• Hardware management – firmware, OOB (i

LO), storage configuration (LVM)

• KVM Hypervisor virtualization
• Expertise in Docker (EE & CE), create containers, docker-compose (Kubernetes, docker swarm is a plus)
• Linux Benchmarking, Performance Testing
• Expertise in System

D and Linux services (NTP, DNS, Squid, NFS)

• Linux middleware services Apache, My

SQL

• Filesystem setup and management

Preferred Skills:

• CI/CD - Jenkins pipeline, GIT
• Ansible
• Linux Monitoring, alerting
• Linux Benchmarking, Performance Testing
• Server Capacity Planning
• Experience implementing HA environments
• Experience with other Hypervisor hardware/software (Nutanix, Vmware Esxi)

Experience:

Hands on Mid-level to Senior 7-10 Years’ Experience with Linux configuration/Engineering and scripting
