Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Role:

Apply mechanical design and engineering principles to design and procure manufacturing equipment. Focus on custom equipment design, procurement, installation, and startup.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with product design engineering on technical specifications

Prototype new processes and equipment for manufacturing of product

Write performance requirements for projects

Maximize equipment efficiency and placement

Recommend process and equipment improvements

Work with electrical engineer on equipment automation

Support product development Design test equipment and procedures

Collaborate with vendors for component sourcing and equipment fabrication

Prepare technical packages and tender documents

Estimate costs and submit bids for projects

Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance

Budget, monitor, and report equipment and project costs

Participate in lab prototyping and manufacturing

Investigate equipment failures and recommend remedial actions

Education & Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field

Minimum 5 years of equipment design experience (composite manufacturing experience preferred)

Top Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude

Experience with 2

D and 3

D CAD design (preferably Auto

CAD and Solid

Works)

Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Exposure to shop fabrication and machining

Familiarity with equipment automation

Design for manufacturing

Schedule:8 hours per day on-site, flexible start time (5 am - 8 am)
