Assistant Manager Laboratory Services

A reputable hospital is actively seeking an Assistant Manager Laboratory Services to join their team. The Assistant Manager Laboratory Services will oversee the Chemistry department.

With multiple hospitals and numerous satellite facilities, This health system offers a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services to patients throughout Delaware and Maryland. The Assistant Manager Laboratory Services will work at two of the award-winning, fully-accredited, non-profit hospitals, including their newly opened state-of-the-art facility.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Manager Laboratory Services will include managing operations of the Chemistry department, and act as a technical supervisor. The Assistant Manager Laboratory Services will ensure the team of medical technologists and clinical laboratory scientists are adhering to policy policies and procedures and that quality performance is maintained in a timely manner.

The Assistant Manager Laboratory Services will also assist with staff evaluations, supply ordering, monitoring budgets, scheduling, and payroll. Through cross-collaboration with the Medical Director, Administrative Laboratory Services Director, and department managers, the Assistant Manager Laboratory Services will develop streamline processes, maintain regulatory compliance, and assist with staff education.

The Assistant Manager Laboratory Services must be a medical technologist with chemistry experience. Ideally this individual will be a laboratory lead/charge technologist, supervisor, coordinator, or manager. The Assistant Manager Laboratory Services must have recent technical experience, be up to date on best practices and advanced techniques, and is familiar with collecting data, problem solving, establishing facts, and drawing conclusions.

The Assistant Manager Laboratory Services also has the ability to concentrate on tasks at hand for extended periods of time, ability to multit-ask, confidence to perform under stressful or unpredictable situations, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with their team in the English language.

Other Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Health Science, or chemical, physical or biological science

ASCP certification:

MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), CLS(NCA), MLT(ASCP) or equivalent certification
