The Clinical Social Worker - Emergency Department will be an employee for a growing health system that offers high quality patient care throughout their acute care hospitals, mental health facilities, specialized clinics and physician practices. This Maryland-based health system currently provides healthcare services and employment opportunities to individuals throughout Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Responsibilities of the Clinical Emergency Department Social Worker will include assessing a patient's psychosocial needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing external resources or referrals as needed. The Emergency Department Clinical Social Worker will recommend appropriate levels of care, and will assist with coordinating and securing inpatient psychiatric treatment and insurance authorizations as needed.

The ED Social Worker is also accountable for completing all written reports in a timely fashion, maintaining patient records as required by law and Medical center policy, and continuously cross-collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, case management, specialists and external providers as needed.

The Emergency Department Social Worker must hold their LCSW or LCSW-C with the ability to practice in the state of Maryland. The ED Clinical Social Worker should have previous clinical social worker or mental health consultant experience, ideally working in an Emergency Department.
