Job Purpose

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for inspecting incoming products and component parts for quality standard compliance. The Quality Assurance Technician will carry out dimensional assessments of product to confirm that dimensions meet blueprint specifications, as well as audits, inspects, and monitors assemblies and production parts as needed.

The Quality Technician will support all Quality Assurance Initiatives including First Article Inspection (FAI), Supplier PPAP, and Receiving Inspection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for adherence to the Cardinal Rules of Safety

Responsible for performing inspections on products including manufactured and purchased components

Collecting and recording data using Programmable Measuring Systems

Perform analytical testing within the Quality Inspection Area

Assist with administrative duties within the Quality Inspection Area

Maintain calibration and training plans for hardware and software within the Quality Inspection Area

Ability to develop relationships in a highly matrixed organization, and drive teamwork cross-functionally

Working with minimal direction

Ability to interpret blueprints, quality inspection plans, procedures, and work instructions.

Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy

Assist with training needs of inspectors and provide support as necessary

Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis.

Maintain good attendance

Follow company policies and procedures

Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or equivalent, based on education and work experience

Licenses/Certifications:

ISO 9001 or IATF Internal Auditor certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Three years’ experience in a quality manufacturing role preferably with an active certified quality system (ISO, AS, etc.).

Experience in inspection theories

Familiar with Trumpf Laser and Bend Machines preferred

Romer Arm Experience

Statistical Process Control Experience preferred

ASQE Green Belt Certification preferred (DMAIC and DMADV knowledge and application)

Quality experience with weld and sheet metal inspection

Experience in measurement usage

Experience with CAD software, Solid

Works experience preferred

Experience with GD&T

Inspection experience using blueprints (interpretation, etc.)

Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power

Point, Outlook, and windows-based programs

Effective oral and written communications skills

Attention to detail

Ability to read and understand 2

D drawings

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with people at all levels in numerous functions.

Must be able to maintain a high activity level and be able to effectively manage and prioritize numerous projects and responsibilities independently
