Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets.
Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Superintendent will have the responsibility for meeting line objectives related to production KPI’s, safety, quality, personnel matters, and enforcement of company policy. This includes continuous improvement throughout the plant, and development of individuals within their organization.
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and execute site priorities including directly/indirectly supervising salaried and hourly staff.
Schedule and supervise manufacturing resources to meet production goals in alignment with business objectives.
Assures production activities are in compliance with company policies and procedures to include environmental, quality control standards and safety compliance.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders as needed to resolve safety, quality, production, logistics, and other issues as they arise.
Ensures a safe work environment is maintained and improved throughout the plant.
Schedules staff and assigns duties to meet production needs.
Develops and administers material and labor usage controls.
Reinforces employee relations programs with the objective of improving employee engagement and morale.
Participates in production equipment maintenance program (as needed) including evaluation of predictive maintenance data, scheduling PM activities.
Responds to unexpected interruptions in the production process.
Develop and coordinate onboarding and professional development for salaried and hourly staff.
Actively lead and participate in plant productivity teams.
Actively lead and/or participate in plant safety teams.
Champion continuous improvement mindset and activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, Power
Point and Excel.
Ability to work well with all levels (be a team player).Strong attention to detail.
Must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts.
Must be willing to attend off-site training.
Must have the ability to work independently, establish priorities and accomplish objectives with minimal supervision
Ability to climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., exposure to hot and cold and extensive walking
Ability to be on call and work extended or after hours as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Production experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience supervising and leading teams of 10 or more employees
Experience with continuous manufacturing processes
Preventative and predictive maintenance program experience
Experience working collaboratively with all levels of an organization Experience development and implementing a positive employee relations culture
